Birders and bird watchers who keep careful records of every sighting deserve a journal that keeps pace with them in the field.
WingLog is a birding journal and sightings log for anyone serious about tracking what they see. Your Sightings Log displays every entry in reverse chronological order, with species name, date, and location; a filter bar lets you narrow entries by date range, species family, or habitat tag. The Life List builds a deduplicated bird checklist from everything you've logged, marking each new species with a lifer badge and showing your progress against one of 20 regional checklists. The on-device Field Guide covers 80 bird species profiles, each with labeled illustrations, key identification marks, habitat preferences, and a seasonal presence indicator, making bird identification straightforward without a cell signal. The Sightings Map shows your sighting locations grouped by taxonomic family, giving you a visual record of the places you've birded.
Logging a new sighting takes a species search against the on-device database, a date and time, a location name, a count, and optional behavior or plumage notes. No account is required; everything stays on your device and can be exported from settings.
The app is free and has no in-app purchases or ads.
