Messages: Text Messenger Home brings your home screen and everyday conversations together in one convenient Android app. Set it as your default Home app for a customizable launcher experience, and set it as your default SMS app to send, receive and organize SMS and MMS conversations.

KEEP CONVERSATIONS ORGANIZED

Find important messages faster with a clear inbox and useful categories for personal messages, transactions, one-time passwords, promotions and updates. Search conversations, pin the chats you use most, archive messages you want to keep out of the main inbox, and manage blocked numbers from one place.

SEND SMS AND MMS YOUR WAY

Start a conversation from a phone number or your contacts. Send SMS messages, share photos and videos, attach audio or a contact card, and add your current approximate location when you explicitly choose to share it. Dual-SIM controls help you select the SIM you want to use on supported devices.

SCHEDULE MESSAGES

Write a message now and choose a future time for it to be sent. Review, send immediately, copy or delete scheduled messages whenever you need to.

LOCAL SMS BACKUP AND RESTORE

Choose a folder and create a local backup of your SMS messages. Select an available backup file when you need to restore. Backup and restore currently supports SMS; MMS backup is not included.

PERSONALIZE YOUR HOME SCREEN

Use the built-in launcher as your Android home screen. Arrange apps, create folders, add supported widgets and personalize icon size, labels, grid layout, theme and app-drawer appearance. Swipe from the home screen for quick access to Messages.

PRIVACY AND CONTROL

SMS/MMS content, contacts, attachments, launcher layouts and user-created backups are processed for the features you request. Message content and contact data are not used for advertising or analytics. The app includes advertising and uses Google services for consent, analytics and crash diagnostics; see the privacy policy for full details.

PERMISSIONS AND DEFAULT-APP ROLES

To provide its core features, the app asks to become your default Home app and default SMS app. SMS/MMS permissions are required to send, receive and manage messages while the app is your default SMS handler. Contacts permission helps identify conversations and select recipients. Phone permission supports SIM selection and reliable SMS/MMS delivery. Approximate location is requested only if you choose the location attachment. Notification, alarm and related permissions support new-message alerts and scheduled sending. You control permissions in Android settings.

Carrier messaging and data charges may apply when sending SMS or MMS. Available features can vary by device, Android version, carrier and region.
